GMC K2500 Pickup Models

Select The Year Of Your Vehicle Below

The GMC K2500 Pickup was originally a classic 1950s truck, but these days, you see them from model years between 1984 (the middle of the third generation) and 2000 (the line's discontinuation). The "K" in the name indicates four-wheel drive (4WD), and the "2500" indicates size -- either three-quarter-ton or one-ton, depending on generation.

The trims you could get early on ranged from base to High Sierra and Sierra Classic. Those available later in the run included Sierra SL, Sierra SLE, Sierra SLT, and Sierra SLX. Several gas and diesel engines were offered -- namely, L6 (six-cylinder), V6, and V8 -- plus an eight-cylinder that ran on compressed natural gas (CNG). Over the years, you could also get a four-door crew cab, a leaf-spring rear suspension, and dual rear wheels.

In 1987, GMC briefly renamed the line, using an R prefix to temporarily distinguish it from its fourth generation, which was being sold at the same time. It was also called GMC Sierra Classic for a short while until its discontinuation.
